All I can say is: Finally. Finally the Capitals put some real entertainment on the ice in between periods. The Squirts still played during the first intermission, but during the second intermission of Friday’s Caps-Lightning game, the rockin red crowd was treated to the awesomeness of the National Blades Synchronized Skating Team (just learned they also appeared March 1). Ya think I’m being sarcastic? I’m not. This is a land where Dancing With the Stars and American Idol are hit TV shows. So why shouldn’t I think figure skating… not just figure skating, but synchronized figure skating… is cool? Well, it was either that, or more Squirts falling down and playing downright awful hockey. If I wanted to see that, I’d watch all the Tampa Bay Lightning games. Caps won, 5-3. Ovie got his 100th point of the season.
